During our recent visit to Ankpa Kingdom, we had the privilege of participating in a series of humanitarian activities at various hospitals. Lead by the King, His Royal Highness Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed Yakubu Il and also our CEO, Mr Hairrison Okeke Nchekube GGG foundation. The purpose of this visit was to provide support, assess needs, and deliver aid to enhance the healthcare services available to the local community where we had the opportunity to interact with patients and healthcare staff. Listening to their stories and understanding their challenges was both moving and enlightening. We were able to provide tissues and other needed materials. Also collected the outstanding bills of some patients who were not able to pay due to financial issues. According to our research at Zonal Hospital Ankpa, Koggi State.
We discovered they don’t give bills to all their patients except the patients at the surgical ward,
According to the matron she said they only write drugs for their patients to buy and the patients pay for hospital bed space.
She also mentioned that whatever token or toiletries we have, we should distribute it to the patients evenly because the patients are not much.
Below are the numbers of patients in the hospital:
—Maternity and surgical
-female and children word;12
Male ward; 3
Making a total of 20 patients.
We have one patient that has not been able to pay her hospital bill in the surgical word.#100000
The matron mentioned that they need hospital facilities like;
1-drip stand
2-trolleys
3-baby’s cut
According to her some patients came today but they rejected them because of limited bed space and some are laying on the floor to receive treatments.
